Sim is a young Irken man who lived as if social media were his only reality. Until reality reminded him he owns something others want to take from him. Now he must discover whether he can remain true to himself when the world relentlessly tries to change him. An everyday life turned trial. Scifi that feels closer than it appears.

Retrograde Maleflower (RMF for short) is my fan project based on Jhonen Vasquez's Invader Zim universe. It includes an eponymous unreleased comic and the 2verse AU , in which all the events of the comic take place.

Title

The title comes from a headcanon subculture of defective Irkens called "retrograde" and the name of an ancient irk flower — the maleflower. The plot follows the everyday lives of members of this subculture, and Sim is one of them. He has trouble adapting to their society and develops some sort of psychosis...

Release

So, you might be wondering when to expect the comic to be released? It's currently in early development, and for now all information exists as text or concepts. I'll announce updates on my blog and share more about the comic's lore on the 2verse AU and Characters pages. Check them from time to time, I'll be updating the information. The Comic page will stay empty until the comic actually starts coming out.

Imago oneshot

Since RMF is a massive project and I have no experience with something this big, I think it's better to start small. So, in the near future I'm going to work on an "Imago" oneshot, which will be a sort of "pilot episode" for RMF. It will tell a compressed version of Sim's lore.
